The Knitting Patch, Inc. The two djacent (left & right) are from two recently completed projects. We are quite plased with the results and we have received a multitude of compliments from visitors to our shop. Featured in the photo (left) is a really fun lace weight, knit shawl that was made using a gradient yarn. While the pattern we chose did not call for beads we added them in the belief that beads make a substantial difference in how the finished piece shows.

Beads definitely cause the finished piece to have a special panache that is otherwise missing. This shawl is on display in the store. You will only need to skeins to complete this shawl, and most of all it is a fun project to knit. Shown right is a great, scarf knitted using Noro Yarn.

This scarf required a skein of solid and variegated Noro yarn. While the result looks magnificent, it is in fact a very simple piece to knit with many short rows. Not just with the selection of your pattern, and colors of yarns, but your own knitting idioscyncracies. No two hand knitted garments are the same, even when knitted using the same pattern, by the same knitter. To demonstrate this individuality, we recently knitted 2 variants of the same pattern at the same time. The only difference we made between the two was the size of needles used, and the yarns. The results are quite stunning, and are on display in the store for you to see for yourself. The image below shows both front and back perspectives of the two shawls, which were knitted using the . You can easily see the liknesses between these two shawls, but just as easily you can see the differences.

The image below vividly shows these differences: The Red shawl was knitted using Hedgehog Cashmere yarn, and it required 2 skeins to complete. This is a light fingering weight yarn, and US 5 needles were used. The image on the right of the photo was knitted using Silky Merino Lace yarn, and it required one skein to knit using size US 3 needles. As this is not a simple pattern to knit, we recommend it for advanced knitters. Shown left are the 1. Traum we received last week. Traum is 1. 00% silk, and therefore has all of the wonderful attributes associated with silk and silk blend yarns. The coloring in this yarn is exceptional.

Filigran is 1. 00% Extra Fine Merino Lace that is exceptionally nice to the touch, and whose colorations are equally compelling. Today has been thwe start of an absolutely perfect week. We received a long awaited major shipment of yarns from Hedgehog Fibres in Cork Ireland. We are in the process of inventorying this yarn, after which we will photograph it and post details on our website. But included are many new colors that have only recently become available. Yesterday was an absolutely wonderful day as we received an anticipated shipment of Freia Yarns as shown in the photo (right), as well as the photos below. Shown right are the 2. Lace yarn we received. Freia yarns are quite unique in the coloring. Not to mention that their colors are themselves quite remarkable, as are their fibers. Since we started stocking Freia, these yarns have become quite popular, and included in this recent shipment are additional weights of their yarns. While those additional weights are presently limited in the quantity we have in inventory, we already have orders placed for additional colors in these weights.
Thus far, all of our projects knitted using Freia have turned out extremely beautiful, and knitting with Freia was itself a pleasurable experience. Given the unique mechanism Freia uses in coloring their yarns, our pending order will take some time to complete. Keep checking our website for news of additional Freia yarns. Lana Gatto Yarns will always hold a special place in my heart. I was travelling in Italy and discovered this yarn there. It seemed like I was buying out the Lana Gatrto store's complete inventory. I loved it there, and I love it here and now. Everything I have knitted using this yarn has turned out quite well, and I can attest to its durability.

We are more than pleased with Galler Yarns, and they truly have exceeded our expectations in every way, especially in how comfortable they are to knit with. As shown, we used a single skein of Galler Prime Alpaca Natural, which is 1. Superfine Alpaca. Each skein is approx 6. Hedgehog Sock Yarn we received. Each skein of this yarn is approximately 4. Superwash Merino and 1. Nylon. This yarn typifies the incredible quality of Hedgehog Fibers in both fiber quality, and colorations.
